Playa Las Ballenas

Playa Ballenas is about 2.5 km long. It is one of the most popular beaches here in Las Terrenas. It stretches from about the end of the city center to the cape, which if you want pass through, you would have to go by boat.

There are various restaurants and bars along the beach, offering a wide range of food and drinks. Be sure to ask for fresh juice from Passion fruit (Jugo de chinola) or Pineapple (Jugo de piña). These bars also offer sunbeds, where you can spend most of the day.

It is the most popular beach, loved by tourists as well as locals - you can find them especially during the weekends. It is popular mainly because of the clean and relatively calm and warm ocean. The beach has light brown in places to white, fine sand. Romance for the evening? Definitely take a walk along this beach at sunset.
