Playa Sosua

About the beach

Beach with good access to the sea. Usually there are no big waves here. Umbrellas and sunbeds are spread all over the beach and are for a fee. There is a large number of restaurants and bars in one place along the entire beach.

I have been to this beach several times and each time it made a different impression on me. It is most beautiful in the morning during the week, without people and colorful parasols. Around 7:00 a.m. they leave the beach for fishing. On the weekend, outside the high season, the tourists are far outnumbered by the local Dominicans, who either come to have fun or earn some extra pesos by playing musical instruments, singing, etc. The observer will also see prostitutes walking around.

Access

There are 2 entrances to the beach. From the main road, a narrow walkway leads down the stairs to the beach. The other entrance is from the town and leads through a beautiful alley full of stalls and companies offering excursions.

Experiences

An ideal place for experiences. Near the shore on the left side of the beach is the sunken statue of Atabey, corals and a large number of fish - it is also possible to see dolphins. There are a large number of companies offering trips here - for example, transparent kayaks with drone photography, diving, snorkeling (Los Cabezos or 3 rocks), glass-bottom-boat rides or fishing - the main attraction is tuna and mahi mahi (Dominicans call this fish Dorado) .
