There are 2 main city beaches in Sosua which are the most visited. Playa Sosua is visited mostly by Dominicans, especially on the weekend. However, it offers beautiful trips to, for example, the statue of Atabey and snorkeling or diving. The second city beach is Playa Alicia, which is more touristic. There are paid sunbeds and umbrellas on both beaches. Both beaches are in bays and the water is calmer without big waves.
If you want to avoid the tourist traffic, go to Playa Puerto Chiquito. You don't find sunbeds here, but you can find a beautiful beach and peace. Unfortunately, the surroundings are dilapidated and you won't find gastronomic services here.
On the outskirts of the city you can find one of the nicest beaches Playa Perla Marina. There is a bar and the opportunity to relax. The adjacent hotel offers various relaxation services, such as massages on the beach on the top floor of the wooden house.
