About the city
City of entertainment. It offers 2 main city beaches - Playa Alicia, Playa Sosua and several smaller ones - Playa Perla Marina, Laguna Beach , Playa Puerto Chiquito. We do not mention "closed" hotel or uninteresting beaches.
The town itself is teeming with restaurants, bars, salons, shops and boutiques.
3 large supermarkets Playero, US1 and Super Pola offer a large variety of goods.
At Playa Sosua you can find a souvenir alley and several companies offering tourist services and attractions, and plenty of restaurants along the beach. You can arrange fishing on a boat here (departures are in the morning). Among the most attractive catches are Tuna and Mahi Mahi (in Dominican it is Dorado).
There are corals at Playa Sosua, which is why this place is popular for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. If you don't want to get wet, you can take a trip on a glass-bottomed boat or go on a transparent kayak.
Apart of the corals, you can see Atabey - a statue less than 5 meters high designed to restore corals. The huge colossus of Mother Taino was submerged at Playa Sosua in early March 2023.
For sunset, people like to go to Laguna Costera. It is a cliff on the outskirts of the city where, under favorable conditions (rain), small lakes are formed in which you can swim.

Night Life
In the evening, the city begins to come alive, the painted streets turn into a busy and loud city. All the bars opens and prostitutes appears in the city. Some foreigners come here for sex tourism. If you go as a couple, they don't pay much attention to you. Women approach lonely men, reach out to them, wink and try to secure a better future for themselves.
Final words
Outside the city center there are residential areas, life here is very calm. It has very good civic amenities, including international schools.
There are many people from North America or Europe (mostly Germans) living here.
The city itself does not offend, but neither does it amaze. The main center is very lively, the opposite are the adjacent districts.
Playa Sosua is more for locals, Playa Alicia for tourists.
