We visited this park on October 3, i.e. outside the high season. Robert and I decided to go to the opening in the morning. We bought tickets, got wristbands and lunch tickets. Before entering, we had to go through a checking of the things we take with us. The lady didn't let us take water inside.
The whole place is very clean and offers a program for almost the whole day. We went to find out the times of the various performances as first thing. Then we walked through the whole park and we were both in awe. The huge aquarium offers an abundance of different types of fish, including sharks. Dolphins can be seen in several places, which curiously came to greet us.
As the first commented performance we had sharks. The 4 men in wetsuits were very entertaining and I was lucky enough to pet and feed a small shark. They were choosing 3 volunteers. It was a real experience and I didn't feel any danger, it had a tiny mouth. You can also purchase swimming with these amazing sea creatures.
In the meantime, we visited accessible bird aviaries. The lady poured food and small birds (Agapornis roseicollis) landed on my hands, shoulders and head and for a while I felt like Snow White 🙂 Other employees had large Ara parrots on their hands. We took a picture with their gentle kiss on the cheek and continued to the next performance.
Show with Ara parrots took place outside. The keepers were fun, engaging and witty just like their parrots. After a demonstration of their incredible skills, we decided to go for lunch.
In the main restaurant, there was a large amount of food on offer, including desserts. We were one of the first guests. The food was really tasty and looked fresh at first glance. In addition, we collected it ourselves and the quantity was unlimited. Unfortunately all drinks were paid and very expensive.
I bought also an interaction with a sea lion. I had the time indicated on my bracelet. According to the instructions I arrived at the sea lion enclosure 15 minutes before and went inside with 10 people. The sea lion trainer explained to us how to treat this animal. We were not allowed to touch the animal without being allowed, not to touch its head or stroke its fur. After a short briefing, a sea lion appeared in front of us. We sat on the edge of the pool. The trainer guided the sea lion to each person separately. I was the last to come and it rested his head on my thighs and I had the chance to rub his soft fur. This was followed by 2 other poses, which were captured by the photographer on the opposite side. After that, the other participants and I sat down on the chair one by one, where the sea lion made grimaces and as the last one was a kiss with a fishy smell 🙂 It was a quick one and I had to pay a lot of money for the photos. Photography and filming are prohibited outside park services, as is interaction with dolphins.
The show of sea lionsfollowed, so we stayed in the same place. The coaches and the whole show were entertaining, funny and in the typical lively spirit of the local people. The well-trained sea lions swam through the pool with incredible lightness and agility. They jumped on the edge of the pool, waved and showed various learned tricks for a fish reward.
We moved to the dolphinarium, where we waited a few minutes for show with dolphins. We saw a synchronized performance of two dolphins. One of the trainers jumped into the water and showed off his skills with one of the dolphins. The dolphin nimbly moved him back to the stage. Trainers used various tools. The dolphin returned the ring to one of the trainers' hand with incredible ease. The whole performance was interesting and easily visible from all the top and bottom places.
We had already finished all the shows and Robert decided to go snorkeling in the artificial reef. The staff gave him a vest and glasses for free. A large number of fish were swimming around him and I could watch him through the glass of the large aquarium. We decided to get wet only after the end of all performances, so we don't have to be in wet swimsuits.
We moved to the other end of the park to the beach and water attractions. There is a rest area with hammocks in front of the entrance. There is a bar by the beach and there are free sunbeds and umbrellas all over the beach. There are several attractions in the water and there are also large rings for rent. 3 older water slides are off the beach. It's not a big deal, but the kids are sure to be entertained for a while.
On the way back, we were the last to use the pool. It has 2 parts, children and adults. They are separate. The adult section contains waterfalls and opportunities to jump into deeper water. Both pools are clean and really nice.
Conclusion:
A wonderful place full of fun for children and adults for the whole day. The care of the animals is loving and of a high standard. The whole park is really clean. The entrance fee is bit expensive, but it is worth it. Shows last 15-20 minutes, interactions around 30 minutes. In the basic entrance fee you have lunch and all the shows, access to the beach, birds, parrots, artificial reef, in fact everything apart from interactions with dolphins, sea lions and sharks. Toilets are clean and with hygienic needs.
