In this city, you will find an various types of cuisines from different cultures. Worth mentioning is Germany Bar & Grill. The food was delicious and at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is located a short distance from the center. Right in the city center there is one restaurant next to another, but the food here is more expensive, just like on the beaches.
Velvet Café nejdete v boční ulici v centru Sosúa, krásná kavárna s milou obsluhou a skvělými snídaněmi. Káva je, bych řekla, průměrná.
The Waterfront at Playa Alicia is a great place to have some food. But here they charge you 28% extra on top of menu prices. This restaurant offers a beautiful view of the ocean. It is built on a cliff, the food is served modern and very well seasoned. They offer local specialties as well as international cuisine.
Prices
Please note that the price on the menu may not correspond to the receipt. It is quite common in this country that they do not include tax and tip in the menu price. They can charge you up to 28% extra (18% ITBIS and 10% mandatory tip for staff). We definitely recommend looking for places where prices are listed and asking in advance if tax is included in the price.
Generally
Dominicans love fried food, mainly chicken, then rice with beans, fish and seafood. Fish is often fried. As a side dish, they mostly offer you mashed "potato" from plantains (green bananas that taste like potatoes), fried plantains (locals call them tostones) and French fries (Papas Fritas).
Among the most common street food dishes are Empanadas – fried stuffed bags, especially salty. You often come across baked or fried chickens.
